James Rodger, New York Marine Clock. Ca.1860. The silvered and enraved dial is 8 1/4" in diameter. The case is 13" tall and the base is 9" in diameter. The clock is amazing heavy - weighing about 30 pounds. The movement is marked with the makers name and his address in New York. While James Rodgers is known for the fine quality clocks that he produced, very few examples of his work have survived. They are excceedingly rare.
