Fairhaven Manufacturing Co. 10" Marine Clock. The case has the original nickel finish in fine condition. The dial has been resilvered. The Fairhaven Mfg. Co., Fairhaven, VT was only in business for 2 years from 1896 to 1898. Their clocks are exceedingly rare, especially the large dial clocks like this example. Fairhaven Mfg. Company was one of the series of Joseph Eastman companies that made very fine quality marine, carriage, shelf and wall clocks. Starting with the Harvard Clock Company in 1880, followed by Boston Clock Company and then the Eastman Clock Company, Joseph Eastman started the Fairhaven Mfg. Company in Fairhaven, Vermont in 1896. After only 2 years the name was changed to Vermont Clock Company. Joseph Eastman was well known for producing marine clocks of uncompromising quality.
