Item ID: 2359 - Chelsea 10" Marine Clock made for the American Steam Gauge Company, Boston. The silvered dial with engraved Roman numerals has the most elaborate engraving around its center and states: "American Steam Gauge Company Boston". Above the center of the hands is a sweep second dial and to the right a slow/fast adjustment bit. The clock retains its original eight day movement. Serial number: "35880" dates the clock to August 26, 1908. The clock retains its original steam gauge case with an unusual multifaceted hinge bezel. The clock is set into an attractive period mahogany base. This clock is extremely rare and desirable because of the quality of the engraving and its rare and elaborate case style.
