Chelsea 8 1/2" Special Grand Mahogany & Metal aka Commander. House strike. A superb all original clock that has been in one family since new. Serial number 3339 on the case and the movement dates the clock to 1904. The accompanying Chelsea Certificate of Origin states that the clock was sold on September 17, 1904 to Hardy & Hayes Company. The clock is one of the first run of striking clocks made by Chelsea Clock Co. between 1898 and 1905. The clock is in the finest original condition in every way. The movement has been overhauled, keeps excellent time and strikes with fine Chelsea tone.
