English Triple Fusee Bracket Clock. Ca. 1875. The mahogany gable pediment case has gilt bronze vase finials, basket of flowers and foliage scroll in the tympanum, full columns with Corinthian capitols, gilt bronze side tone openings with mask centered sunbursts, gilt bronze key escutcheon, and applied decorations. The base of the clock is decorated with fine gilt leaf molding on the front and sides and sits on lobed bun feet. The clock plays Whittington chimes on 8 bells, Westminster chimes on 4 bells and strikes the hour on a large coiled gong. The case has the original finish which has been polished and waxed. The dial has silvered chapter ring with fleur-de-lys half hour markers, cast gilt bronze spandrels and lunette decorations and sub dials for Chime/ Silent, ®regulation and chime selection. All of the gilt bronze decorations have their original gilding that has been expertly cleaned. The movement has been completely overhauled and plays beautifully. The clock also keeps excellent time. The clock is 23” tall, 14 1/2” wide and 7 3/4” deep. Superb in every way.
