Exquisitely carved triple fusee bracket clock in the style of a Gothic cathedral. The case displays the immense exuberance of the Gothic style. Leaves, flowers, vines, architectural elements and much, much more are depicted in the finest detail. The flow of the stems and vines, the graceful folds of the leaves, the delicate curls of the petals of the flowers all grounded on the architectural base and supported by strong columns. Especially note the whimsical face peeking out from behind the foliage above the dial. The roof is actually carved with individual shingles. The clock is unsigned but the fine quality chain fusee movement is typically English chiming the quarters on 8 bells and striking the hour on a single gong. The case is 31 3/4” tall, 13 34” wide and 10” deep. The dial is 5 1/2” in diameter. The bezel latch is missing. Otherwise the clock is in complete and in good running order. Please view the photos carefully to fully appreciate the masterful workmanship on this very fine clock.
