Chelsea Clock Company 6 1/2" Special Grand Dial Tambour No. 2. Ships Bell. Matching serial number 132767 dates the clock to 6/13/19. The Copper Bronze case finish is original and absolutely immaculate. The special grand dial, numerals and hands are perfect. The dial is signed W. W. Wattles & Sons, Pittsburgh and Chelsea Ships Bell. The case is 21 1/4" wide, 12 1/2" tall and 6" deep. The clock was in one family since new. This is one of the finest original condition early Chelsea clocks that I have seen. Simpy spectacular!

Chelsea Clock Company 12" Special Dial Neptune Ships Bell Clock. The fine original surface dial is marked Shreve, Treat & Eacret, San Francisco and Ships Bell. The case has been polished and lacquered. The movement is stamped with serial number 96861. The Chelsea sales ledger shows that this clock was sold to Shreve, Treat & Eacret in 1915. This is one of only two 12" Neptunes known to exist. Chelsea 12" shelf clocks like this example have truly commanding presence . The case is 19" tall, 17" wide and 6" deep. The clock is in superb restored condition.

Chelsea Clock Company 8.5” Special Dial Admiral Ships Bell Clock. Copper bronze case with matching original winding key. Fine original dial is silvered with raised applied copper bronze numbers and copper bronze serpentine hands. Hinged bezel. Serial number 191343 on movement and wood bottom insert dates the clock to 1929. Overall dimensions - 12” tall, 14” wide, and 6” deep. The Chelsea Sales Ledger entry shows that the clock was sold to Toledo Shipbuilding on 7/29/19. A very fine all original example.

Chelsea 8 1/2" Special Dial Mahogany and Metal LNA Commander - Ships Bell. Serial number 34641 on movement and the case dates the clock to 1908. The case has been professionally refinished in black nickel. The wood back and base are freshly ebonised. The dial has been resilvered and the numerals and hands finished in black nickel. Chelsea 8 1/2” Special Dial Library Clock. Ships Bell. Library clocks are rare in any size. 8 1/2" examples are almost never seen. Note the base with fine beading and the unusual bezel and back flange with coin edges. The library clock is the only Chelsea shelf clock that places the clock symmetrically on the base whether viewed from the front, sides or the back. The case has been nickel plated with the beading contrasting in polished brass. The dial has been resilvered while the numerals and hands have the original black oxide finish. Matching serial number 23757 dates the clock to 1907. The clock is in fine restored. condition.

Chelsea 12" Carved Base No. 3 Time Only. Special dial marked Heeren Bros. & Co., Pittsburg. This clock is one of only two known Chelsea 12" Carved Base clocks. The clock has been totally restored and is in the finest condition in every way. Serial number 67920 on the case dates the clock to 2/12/10. The Chelsea Clock Museum's listing of 12" dial Chelsea clocks describes the clock as "12" TO Spec CB carved B H - SPCL". It was sold to Heeren Bros. & Co., Pittsburg. The movement has serial number 92537 which the Chelsea records describe as follows "12" OB Mar H E?P. The movement was originally in a 12" Marine Clock and was sold to Heeren Bros on 2/19/14. Apparently the movements of these clocks were inadvertently swapped at some point in their history.

Chelsea Clock Co. 10" Special Dial Yacht Wheel Clock with base aka Mariner Ships Bell Clock for Tiffany & Co., New York. Chelsea yacht wheel clocks are the quintessential ships bell clock design. They were offered with dial sizes of 2 3/4", 3 1/2", 4 1/2", 6", 8 1/2", 10" and 12". The 10" and 12" examples are exceedingly rare. In fact, this is one of only 2 Chelsea 10" Mariners known to exist. Standing 27 1/2" tall, 21" wide and 9" deep and weighing 65 pounds, the clock has truly commanding presence. Serial number 172995 dates the clock to 1926. The clock has been restored and is in superb condition. Simply, the best!

Extremely rare Chelsea Clock Co. 12" Special Grand Dial Chain Clock. Ships Bell. Serial number 139658. Ca. 1920. The clock retains the original hinged yellow brass case with a pair of brass eye hooks mounted near the numerals 10 and 2. The clock is one of two known that have the original factory brass chain with mounting plate that measures 22 inches in length. The ships bell movement is signed with the following markings: "Chelsea Clock Co. Boston, USA. Patented Oct. 25, 1898, Sept. 19, 1899, June 5 1900 Also Patented in Great Britain May 31, 1900" and serial number 139658. The dial has fancy applied bronze numerals and the inlaid pierced bronze disk which is signed CHELSEA CLOCK CO. BOSTON U.S.A. The clock has the original fancy pierced hands. The clock was sold in 1920 by Chelsea to the William Cramp & Sons Shipbuilding Company of Philadelphia which was founded in 1825 by William Cramp, and was the preeminent U.S. iron shipbuilder of the late 19th century. Chelsea built these chain clocks for a very few years with the intent that these clocks could be hung in a variety of places and configurations. Because of the cost of the clock very few of these chain clocks were manufactured. The case has been recently polished and lacquered. The movement has been recently overhauled and is running accurately. The dial is untouched and has minor discoloration in the original lacquer. The mounting eye hooks, chains and mounting plates are original.

Item ID: 2359 - Chelsea 10" Marine Clock made for the American Steam Gauge Company, Boston. The silvered dial with engraved Roman numerals has the most elaborate engraving around its center and states: "American Steam Gauge Company Boston". Above the center of the hands is a sweep second dial and to the right a slow/fast adjustment bit. The clock retains its original eight day movement. Serial number: "35880" dates the clock to August 26, 1908. The clock retains its original steam gauge case with an unusual multifaceted hinge bezel. The clock is set into an attractive period mahogany base. This clock is extremely rare and desirable because of the quality of the engraving and its rare and elaborate case style.

Item ID: 2335 - Chelsea Clock Co. 10" Ships Bell Chain Clock for Tiffany & Co. Serial number 172729 on the movement and the case dates the clock to 1926. Spectacular original finish on case, dial and chains. Chelsea chain clocks are exceedingly rare. They were shown in the Chelsea 1911 and 1917 catalogs with 12" dials. Other sizes were special order. Examples with original chains are even more difficult to find. This is the only known example with the original chains with their original finish matching the clock case. Unique and very desireable.

Additionally the dial is engraved Chelsea Clock Movement 7 Jewells. #985345 is stamped on the dial below 6. The oversize, early style, key locking case is case 14 3/4" in diameter and 3 1/4" deep. The movement is stamped Chelsea Clock Co. Serial number 83826 on the movement dates the clock to 1913. The case has been polished and lacquered. he dial has been resilvered. The movement has been overhauled. A very unusual large dial Chelsea marine clock.
